Bangers

‘Bangers’ is an interactive film that uses the “foldback narrative” storytelling format. It allows its viewers to pick between a series of two choices as they go along, giving them control over how the story unfolds. ‘Bangers’ is set in a Semi-Dystopian world that is ruled by a government with an iron fist. There are strict restrictions on all media with music being completely outlawed. This story follows a quiet teenage boy named ‘Jono’ who is reserved which leads him to overthink situations and his brash friend ‘Caleb’ who rushes into action before he thinks. The pair live out in the suburbs where dumpster diving is a regular activity, this causes them to stumble across a clue that leads the duo into joining a rebellion against the ban on music. They get taken along for the ride while helping the rebellion grow, until one of their parties gets raided by the police, causing them to realise that this adventure of theirs isn't all fun and games and that they will get hurt if they aren’t careful. The decisions that Jono makes as he navigates through the political unrest of the suppressed society around him ultimately lead to either freedom of the creative mind or ruthless suppression.
